Turning Goals into Action: Highlights from LIFE-MAC Africa’s YLT on Execution

LIFE-MAC Africa has held the 18th edition of its Youth Learning Together (YLT) program, focusing on Execution, a topic aimed at helping young people overcome the inertia that often prevents them from following through on New Year resolutions.
The program, which emphasized practical strategies for moving from intention to consistent execution, brought together young participants eager to learn how to build sustainable habits and achieve their goals.
Over 50 young people from across the Ho Municipality and nearby universities converged at the Rotary Community Center, adjacent the LIFE-MAC Africa office, at 5:00 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026, for the interactive learning session.
As part of an opening activity, participants wrote their projects and annual goals on sticky notes. These were later shared among participants to help them identify others with similar interests and commitments, forming accountability partnerships to support goal execution throughout the year.
The event then transitioned into a panel discussion featuring Moses Olalowo, Account Officer at Ho Nursing Training College and Gabriel Agana Anongwin, a final-year Doctor of Pharmacy student at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho, moderated by Favour Godson, who guided the conversation with the panelists.

The panel explored why many young people fail to accomplish their New Year's resolutions. Among the key challenges identified were: Lack of clarity and systems, Inconsistency and Weak execution strategies.
The panel emphasized the importance of building systems that translate into daily habits, rather than focusing only on long-term outcomes. Participants were encouraged to see habit formation as part of personal identity development, not just something they do, but who they are becoming through consistent action.
Practical tools for execution were also introduced, including journaling, using Google Calendar for planning and accountability, and breaking large goals into manageable daily routines.
The session remained highly interactive, with participants asking questions and receiving guidance from the panelists.

The Execution session forms part of LIFE-MAC Africa’s broader effort to equip young people with practical life and leadership skills needed to translate vision into measurable results.
The Youth Learning Together (YLT) program brings young people together on the last Friday of every month to share knowledge on a selected topic, usually decided during the previous session. The program is free of charge, and young people are encouraged to join the growing community of learners committed to personal development and impact.
